Advertising a charge for a bulb change?! Must be a joke surely?!
Friday 28 October, 2016
If you have been listening to the radio this month you may have heard an advertising campaign from a well know car accessory chain (they also sell a lot of push bikes) quite rightly telling people to check their cars lights.
As we all know the clocks go back this weekend (30th October) and the evenings will be darker earlier. So we should all make sure that that all of our car lights are working.
They say if you pop into one of their stores and buy the bulb they will fit it for only £8!
Does that seem like a good deal?
On most vehicles changing most bulbs is quite straight forward and with some exceptions can normally be done in under 5 minutes.
If they had people lining up for that service they would be charging an hourly rate that is more than most independent garages. The difference between most independent garages and the car accessory supplier is that at an independent garage like ours you will get a qualified technician working on your vehicle who knows your vehicle inside out and not an unqualified retail employee.
If we were to charge what the car accessory supplier were charging we would probably be one of the most expensive independent garages in the country.
So if you would like one of your light bulbs changed we will normally fit most standards bulbs free of charge.
So remember the clocks go back this weekend, be safe and be legal, check all of your vehicles lights. If any of your lights do not work pop in and see us here at Russell Automotive Centre and we will fit most standard bulbs FREE OF CHARGE.

Whilst travelling to you you ordered the part, and an hour after my initial call my van was on the lift and a new starter-motor was being fitted. An hour later I was on my way back to work. I cannot thank you enough for your help. Not only did you go out of your way to keep us working, you did it at a very sensible price.
